Well, yesterday we visited the local zoo and had a good time. The machine maintenance class went well, I learned a couple new things which is always good! Today I joined in on our guild zoom sew-in for a little bit. I cut for an upcoming class I'm taking the 21st. I leave for retreat next Wednesday (back with my old guild in Cincinnati) so finished packing projects for that. Moved a few things around in the sewing room so I could see what I had, always fun! I'll check back in tomorrow afternoon after church.

Well, I made some progress16 of 20 blocks done and the remaining four are nearly finished. Then I can finish squaring up 10 and write my name on 5 more. Not everyone wants names on their 2025 exchange blocks because they use the blocks as part of donation quilts. I like the names because the quilt then becomes a memory quilt for this year. Glad the last steps will only take about an hour then I can move on to adding the binding and can do the hand stitching while football games are on or a movie which every pleases me and keeps me from snoozing.

I am nearly finished with the Fleece Thing: I worked on it yesterday 'til I couldn't work no more!! I did finish the donation quilt and got the binding attached so my friend can use her nimble fingers to hand stitch to the back.
Today will be the day I empty a scrap bin ( one of three!) I need the bin for red/white/blue QOV storage. This is the one with orphan blocks so I may get distracted in trying to figure out something using those up. My orphan blocks got tossed into a scrap bin in a previous attempt to tidy up a bit.

I was away all day yesterday but while I was away quilting batting arrived so now I can get busy on layering two baby quilts and one donation quilt. Then on to the quilting part. That should keep me out of trouble for a couple of days. Maybe!

Well, today I have no sewing in mind as I have to travel to tell my brother in a nursing home that our mother passed away yesterday. On Saturday I'll get back to working on my French Braid as I'm being held up on the next quilt on the frame until my sister tells me which thread colors she wants me to use on it. The French Braid is going to take some time as I have to figure things out as I go. I just realized I'll have to remove the side sashings down about 6 inches, add an extension so that I can miter them with the top and bottom sashings. Slow going but will be so worth it as this will be my quilt for my full size bed. I want it to reach the floor on the sides.

I'm last to the weekend quilting again...sigh. I'm going to start sorting through my fabrics to find just the right colors to make my son's new quilt. I'm also working on a piece that is half quilted. I'll work on that as well, one block at a time. I look forward to seeing everyone's projects.

Well, I got rows A-F stitched together, each one is 10 blocks of 100 pixels. G and H will be joining the quilt after I complete row H. Then just 4 more rows! I can definitely see the finish line. Time to start thinking borders. These quilts are not specifically planned to the finish. I must wait to see the finished main part before continuing. I used the palest shade of blue for the background, and not sure about rest of borders.

Yesterday's progress:
I received my floor mat for under my sewing chair yesterday. I spent the day rearranging my work area to fit the rug to my worktables. Now I'm ready to roll.
