Glad you are feeling better, but sorry your hubby is so sick, Janice. So Thanksgiving is a wash... I'm sure you'll have an even better Christmas!
Very pretty block you found from Terriamn.
We are planning to go to Memphis on Wed. I'll cook the turkey at our Memphis house, and my daughter is doing all the rest of the cooking, with dinner being at her house. So it will be an easy one for me. Marty is doing better and tho he still has trouble walking, he is fit to travel with us to Memphis.
After Thanksgiving we will have the funeral for my hubby's brother. Details have not yet been set.
Hope all of you are well and looking forward to a great Thanksgiving this week.

Janice gland you are feeling better, hoping Bob isn’t sick as long as you
We go to the dentist tomorrow. I will get stitches out and the crown goes on the other tooth. I am Not expecting any pain! Now my poor dh, that’s a different story. He cracked a tooth and thinks it will need to be pulled and start the implant process, he is not a happy Camper and just hopes he will feel up to eating on Thanksgiving.
Today was a frustrating errand day. Neither of us could find the things on our list. One place we really miss from the Midwest is Menards. Told hubby I could see the shelves we have at home for garage storage sitting on the end cap at Menards. We went to Lowe’s and Home Depot and a couple other smaller home improvement stores and no luck. Will have to purchase them when we go home for Christmas and bring them back here. Grrrrrr
Temp wise has been much better, the horrendous humidity is gone after the thunder storm that passed through Saturday. There was a huge clap of thunder and all the lights blinked on and off 3 times and surprise surprise we didn’t lose power. Thanksgiving should be a gorgeous in the mid 70’s
Take care

Terriamn, poor DH is at least three days behind me in this flu. (Ernie misses his best buddy.) I hope your dental appointments go well. I get nervous about pain but my fears are never realized, thank goodness. Hope hubby is as lucky. Glad the weather is better now.
Packages were picked up a day early. Woo hoo! They’re all on their way now.

Janice, thank you for the push to get the blocks out before Thanksgiving. I am glad the post office is willing to cooperate.
SBG sounds like a tasty Thanksgiving is in the works. Condolences to you all for the loss of your BIL. I'm glad Marty is hanging in there.
Beautiful block, Terriamn!
One set of my grands came down this past weekend. We went to Chalmette Battlefield where the older two were excited to walk through history. PBS is running a Ken Burns series on the Revolutionary War which fit in perfectly with our Battlefield tour. This Battlefield is considered by some the very last battle of the Revolutionary War (War of 1812 with Britain) fought after the peace treaty was signed. We had no more problems with the Brits for our independence after the Chalmette battle. The whole time there I kept thinking I needed to put my patriotic quilt together.
We also went to the Children's Museum where they had a blast. The bubble rectangle -- stand inside a square and physically pull the soap soaked square up to wrap yourself in a bubble -- was a great effort for the three of them in the middle. The kitchen/market zone was loaded with huge plastic fruits and vegetables and cook lots of cooking utensils and kitchen clean up toys. The best one I've seen! Lots of urban resilience lessons, too ,and a running river project that lets everyone get water everywhere. The playhouse was designed by one of my favorite local artists, Terrance Osborne. Great funky colors and angles to the playhouse with positive notes "Kindness is free" kind of feel good messages. Plenty of windows and doors, all children size, for the kids to use their imagination. I was very impressed. I need to finish my New Orleans quilt using inspiration from this museum.
It is funny how I relate everything I do back to quilting. Very few people in my world understand my fascination with quilting and creativity. I am so glad I can share this with you because I suspect you completely understand!

I am just a bit jealous of you having easy access to a battle field. and all of it's history. Most of our historical areas in Michigan are small skirmish areas where trappers and traders were fighting the Native Tribes. We do have Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island. Interestingly enough, Ibex, the British tried to capture it in July of 1812! Ah, those poor Red Coats were spread pretty thing from the tip of the mitten to the end of the Mississippi. I have enjoyed the Ken Burns series this past week. It is time to watch it again, because there was so much to absorb that I am sure I missed much.
I spend a good chunk of the morning and a bit of the afternoon making Spiced Christmas jam to give to friends and neighbors. Boy it felt good to be cooking and yes even the clean up was a pleasure. I am thinking it is more fun when you WANT to cook than when you HAVE to cook. I wanted to make jam. The foamy leavings are so yummy. I think a peanut butter and jam sandwich is on the menu tomorrow. We are scheduled to get a pile of snow which may snag up travel plans for folks, but I can stay home if I choose and just watch the flakes pile up on the marsh. My plans are to go to my daughter's home but it is about 7 or 8 minutes away and on a main road most of the way. Easy, Peasy.

Good morning. Just a quick check in. It looks like all packages are on the move. Hope some of you will see delivery by Saturday.
We’re still sick here with what we now assume is Covid. DH continues to be sicker than me. I’ve just got a cough now and again otherwise I feel well. Am hoping you all are healthy enough for your family and friends celebration tomorrow. I’ll cook our 15 pound turkey. Might be a few leftovers, what do you think? lol.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my quilty friends and your families. Be well.

Ibex how interesting on the battlefield, thanks for sharing!
WMUT our jelly sounds wonderful
We went to Mexico for dental appointments. Instead of a mold being made for my crown they used a scan of some sort, it fit perfect and they didn’t have to do any grinding on it at all. Wonderful. Bur poor dh wasn’t so lucky, he was in the chair over 2 1/2 hours. He had cracked a tooth all the way to the root and when they removed the cracked part there wasn’t enough tooth to save. He decided to have it pulled and start the implant process. Poor man was suffering last night but somewhat better today. When he is super quiet I know he is suffering.
Janice so sorry you are both still feeling sick and how frustrating to be sick over a holiday.

Well, I was able to snap a picture of this week's finish. It has been 18 months in the making and just needs the label. The sun seems to be hiding out behind clouds every day this week making photos a challenge.
This is my version of Wendy Sheppard's Harrisonburg Quilt that was promoted by Pat Sloan as a fund raiser for the Virginia Quilt Museum. It finished at 78 X 93.

Sorry you are down with the flu, Janice. I haven't taken a flu shot in over a decade. I just don't believe they help. Hope you can get the rest you need while your body resolves this flu. Don't forget to drink lots of fluids! We'll be thinking of you.
Terri, sorry the weather has turned nasty there. Maybe it's a good day to stay indoors and sew, with the A/C on? Hope you get some cooler weather soon. It's warm here too again, but supposed to see temps drop by Wednesday. I would love to have a cool Thanksgiving.
WMUT, we have owls in our woods too. There is one in particular who hoots in the evenings while we are out on the porch. We love to hear him (her). It's a cool and soothing sound. I love it. I do hear another owl hoot back usually, from farther off.
We got the sad news yesterday afternoon that hubby's younger brother had died. He had a massive stroke/aneurism/brain tumor about a year ago, and has been hospitalized since. On a feeding tube... Finally he's been set free. The family will most likely have the funeral right after Thanksgiving, in Southern Louisiana.
Today I am trying to work on the 4 pair of pajamas for the grandchildren, for Christmas. Have two for the girls nearly done, and then I'll cut the two for the little boys. I'm so ready to get back to quilting!

Weather here is yucky, Rain, wind cold temps and some snow way thru Sunday. I see sewing in my future weekend. I took today off from work, so I got my errands done before the bad weather sets in. Getting ready to go to the Gym with my hubby. Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving.

Love to view anything through a child’s eyes. Battlefields to museums are all more interesting. And yes I see quilt ideas all over!
since it is only DH and me this year, the turkey is getting cooked today. Enjoying fresh beets that I caramelized with pears last night. And making parsnips today . I love fall veggies
tomorrow morning I can flip the channels to view all the parades .
making covers for the neck roll pillows. My GD fell in love with mine when she visited so purchased two for her and DD.

Janice, I think a nice turkey pot pie, turkey gravy over biscuits, randomly reaching in the fridge for a chunk of turkey, all the things i'm gonna miss this year. i think my kids think I'm too old for turkey. i got relegated to the dessert list. Peanut butter Cake, pumpkin pie, and chocolate cake/ice cream roll.
I'm so sorry you have covid. that cough stayed around with me. i was told to drink some pineapple juice if that cough sticks around.
