I read a three day waiting period and possibly another egg will be arriving. I didn't realize that by not sitting on the nest it is giving the eggs a chance to mature at the same time. Since the second egg was produced, someone is always covering them so I bet there will not be a third egg. One never knows. I still can't tell the two parents apart.

I'm glad I'm not the only obsessed eagle watcher!

I keep tabs on the eagles too. I can sometimes tell them apart by their actions when they're together. And I know Jackie is the one on the nest at night.

Last year Jackie had sap on her head so I could tell them apart by that, but it's harder to know now.

Oh no! The eagles were away from the nest for a while and a raven destroyed one of the eggs. Some reports are that it was both eggs, but an eagle is sitting on the nest again, so maybe just one of them? It's not too late for them to have another clutch.

As long as Jackie and Shadow were gone from the nest, they may have wanted the raven to come and take care of the cracked egg for them. Let's see if a new clutch is in our future to enjoy. I am hoping that Jackie is not ill. This season has had such a late start.

So sad. They have been such good parents seems odd for them to have left the nest unattended for so long. Not optimistic there will be more eggs this year.

Great news! A second clutch has started in the nest. Jackie laid an egg yesterday afternoon and was still on the nest this morning! We may end up with some fun eaglette watching this year yet!
