Thx Sewbiz, I had just turned 18 when I married my first dh and of course knew everything and didn’t listen to the nay sayers. I was much more cautious and thoughtful the second time and he has been a life saver for me

Good morning. Might be 80 here later today. Sheesh. Weather whiplash with freezing temps coming again soon.
Terriamn, don’t we all know everything at 18? The older I get the more I realize I don’t know. I am, however, learning right now what I thought I already knew. DH has definitely been spoiling me these last few years. He’s taken over a lot of the household chores, and he’s been cooking for us for years. Ummm…that’s all changed since he broke his ankle. Now I’m doing all the little things he had been doing and it’s wearing me out. Time to change my lazy and dare I admit somewhat selfish ways and step up.
Picked up the Juki. No time for a test run yet. Maybe later today after the doc appointment.
Have a good day all.

Hi everyone, just checking in. We've had quite a bad spell with my husband and his back issues. He's been getting injections for about 2 years and they really aren't helping him anymore. His back surgery is May 21. That's a long way off! But he wants the doctor who's going to do it and he's booked solid until then. Then our insurance called to say he needs to go back to physical therapy, which is a joke at this point. But he's going and then they can inform insurance that he does indeed need surgery. This is the first issue we've had with insurance.
Janice, I'm sorry to hear about your husband. My husband rides a bicycle. He loves it. I'm already nervous about him returning to it after his surgery!! But I'm not saying a word. He had a motorcycle before we got married. One time I rode with him and my parents went nuts!!!! Ohio is so stupid in not requiring helmets. My gosh, whenever I see someone I shudder. He always wore one as New York requires them.
Hope yours heals soon!
I haven't sewn a stitch lately. I need to.

SusieQOH, I am with you.. no sewing yet today but I am turning off the news and and returning to my sewing room soon. The local news is all weather all the time, so it seems. SW Michigan has been hit hard with tornados, EF3 and EF4, then last night strong thunderstorms in my area and serious flooding in other areas. Oh, yah, hail the size of baseballs last night and deep enough to shovel. What a mess! Hang on states east of the mitten, our cold air will be blowing your way tomorrow and Friday. Burrrrr
Time to stitch up a UFO for the month of March.

WMUTeach, that is terrible weather! What a mess, indeed. I hope you get relief from it soon and get a chance at beautiful spring weather. We had a day of beautiful weather here in New Orleans. The hot and muggies have already set in. It is going to be a long summer.

Here is what I have been doing this week. One UFO from last year. Happy to have this one out of the UFO basket and ready to give to someone when the time is right. One baby quilt for a neighbor who had her first little one.
Both had a final inspection by ZuZu. She assured me the UFO was correct and met "Cat Snuggles" standards.

Good morning. It was a busy week! Retreat was terrific but I only went two days rather than three. I got hit with severe allergies and I felt miserable on the last morning so I begged off. I spent a few hours sitting with my neighbor and her daughter. It’s now part of my routine. Yesterday was “interesting”. DH went for a four hour mc ride alone and 2-1/2 hours into it I got a call from him. He’d crashed on a dirt road but was ok! He got some assistance getting the mc up and got home. The bike is damaged but he is miraculously in fairly good shape except for a swollen ankle and bumps, cuts and bruises. Today he’s walking on crutches to keep off that foot and he’s resisting going for X-rays. Ugh. Men. I suspect we’ll be going later today. It could easily have turned out so differently.
WMU, love the quilts! Glad you found some boom fabrics. I have yet to go through mine.
Terriamn, I hate when I run out of bobbin thread on the Juki. I can’t see the bobbin and i sometimes forget to check it regularly. The little Janome has a drop in bobbin so I can easily keep track of it.
Well, I’m back to sneezing so off I go in search of a new box of tissues.
Have a good day.

Terri, that will be an awesome surprise for your friends! My sister and I surprised our parents with a visit once. I was living in HI but was visiting little sis in GA, and we decided to drive over to MS and surprise them. Dad was out in the yard, watering plants, when we ran shouting "Dad! Dad!" into his yard. He looked up and he said his first thought was, "Those look like my kids..." LOL! Took him a minute.
Janice, hubby may have learned his lesson on riding alone. It could have been much worse and surely he's thought those thoughts, too. Yeah, MEN! My hubby still thinks he can go up on the roof alone to fix something. He's 71. He's in good shape, but is a little clumsier than he used to be.
I got one more UFO finished... a throw quilt for donation. It was a block-of-the-month challenge by my local charity group (not the big guild) and I had finished making all the 12" blocks, but not done anything else except join them into a 3X4 block top. So yesterday I quilted the whole thing (stipple), bound it and added the charity label. TA DA! It feels good to have a project done and on its way out. I'll try and come back with a photo from my phone.

I have not sewn any stitches either. I plan on cleaning up the sewing room this Friday. I need a donation quilt for the VFW for May. So I will see what UFO's I have (i have many) that might work for the event.

I know we are in all different season zones. What are the signs of spring in you area? Bet some of you are still deep in winter while others are basking in early summer.

Spring in New Orleans: Oak trees are pollinating. When the cypress tree buds out, the pecan trees are sure to follow. I'm still waiting for the cypress trees to bud. Azeleas are blooming everywhere in New Orleans right now. My satsuma tree has delicious smelling flowers on it now, too. Mulberries are popping out, too.
