Would like to get my scrap petal quillt quilted and binding on. Also, clean up and get ready, if not start next quilt. It alway seems things happen on the VQW to keep me from quilting. Already had a phone call from DF that was long but really enjoyed it. Few household tasks and I'm off to quilt.

I'm trying to finish the rest of the blocks for my "Arctic Feathers" quilt...almost done. I want to watch the Oscars on Sunday and the guys won't like it, so it's a good time to quilt and watch it on my computer.

I'm also longarming a throw sized sunflower quilt that I would like to finish quilting and attach the binding for my friend to hand stitch.
In between, I'm piecing strip blocks for a comfort quilt for church I'm 25 out of 35 blocks done.
Piecing batting...that does not sound like fun. Tell them to just take those little pieces home and make mug rugs, or something else that's small.

Sounds like everyone has great plans for the weekend! Look forward to seeing some in progress photos when you have time.

This afternoon I will take hand embroidery when I visit a friend who has just got home from rehab. after breaking her knee.
Tomorrow morning I host the guild zoom sit and stitch for 2 hours, so will hand quilt on my scrappy batik hearts again. Haven’t made plans past that yet. We got some slushy snow overnight, but hope to get a nice long walk in this morning before sitting so much.
Oh yes, I am also piecing some scraps I cut up into kind of a modern looking block, will see if I make time to work on that.

@JENNR8R VQW is a tradition. Heather/Raggie'smom sets it up and we just use it as an opportunity to share. Just like my real life sewing group on Tuesdays, but this is virtual.

Gives a chance to share projects or bring up subjects or show pictures that might not be worth a thread on it's own -- but bring it up in group!

I have been waiting for this VQW all week. I infact did some prep work this week to prepare. I have an ambitious list. I have four quilts, backings pieced, sandwiched and basted i would like to get quilted this weekend. Weather is going to be wintery Saturday so m planning on being at the sewing machine for the day. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is working on this weekend.

Thank you Iceblossom for the explanation. I've seen the thread before but always thought that is was on a holiday weekend for some reason. I'm hoping to baste a quilt this weekend for when my new Bernina Q20 sitdown will be totally operational. I had a Bernina Q16 sitdown that has been broken for a year now. I traded it in on the Q20 since nobody seemed to know how to fix it. The Q20 was installed in my home last week, but the table was four inches taller than advertised. I couldn't use it at all. They are sending me an adjustable table to replace it for no extra charge. Woo Hoo!

JENNR8R, sometimes there is a special VQW connected with a holiday or a pseudo holiday like "Superbowl". So you are correct but they pop up once a month too. A good way to designate a weekend or a day to focus on a quilt project. I agree with Ice Blossom, VQW is a good place to encourage each other and to show our progress toward our goal for the weekend.

The next VQW dates are always in the first message from Heather. Stitch on, my dear and show us your progress or just post a message. We sure do like acknowledging our successes and progress.

I'm in. Finished a quilt for Project Linus that I spoke about last month (first time glue basting) so I also made a flannel NICU quilt to hand in tomorrow at our monthly meeting. Also hope to choose my next large quilt project. A choice between an Irish themed scrappy UFO quilt that I have most of the blocks done for, work on my Tula paper piecing project I treated myself to a year or so ago, or start a completely new project-London Town Sampler by Cake Stand Quilts. Pat Sloan did one about 2 years ago I believe and I loved it.
I have been trying to wrap up UFO's and have been fairly successful so maybe the Irish quilt. Besides, the time is right.
    I'll report back!
