LGJARN52--did the cat move out of your chair?

Snooze2978--hopefully your machine will be available sooner than later so you can finish the quilt for auction.

JENNR8R--once a month I host a "virtual quilting weekend". It just means we all share what we're working on here in this thread. Since we're not physically together, I call it a virtual quilting weekend. I just pick a weekend each month; often they're on a holiday weekend but not always. Hope that answers your question.

Quiltmom2--how did it go with piecing the batting? I use fusible tape to "piece" mine.

Nesie--how did you like glue basting?

I've had a productive couple days working on wool applique. I did finish a hand embroidery piece and one felt ornament top. Tomorrow I'm running around visiting various friends here in Cincinnati. I'm only back up here twice a year for the retreats so i try to see as many people as possible. Will check back in tomorrow night. Looks like we have quite a few quilting this weekend!

Nesie, how did you like glue basting? I love it, am so happy I learned about it on this board, it's been quilting world life changing for me.

Reading through the post, it looks like there are lots of plans of getting projects done/wrapped up and getting new ones started. I am not part of the UFO thread in setting goals to finish them, but at one point I didn't think I had any UFO's, then this winter when I went through all my bins and refolded all my fabric, Tahdah.... I found some UFO flimsies that I want to complete before moving on to other projects. I found 9 tops and I have the backing or have pieced backing for all of them. I am hoping to have four of them done this weekend. I am disciplined enough to complete these, then I do have another project in mind, I have the fabrics picked out for it, but will not start it until these are done. I have 2 or 3 other quilts packed away that are complete, I will donate all of these to an organization here in Maine, Sarah's house that is near and dear to my heart. I have been donating to them since they opened. It is a house that people that are receiving cancer treatments can stay at to save on travel, both physical and monitary. It is about 5 miles from the big cancer treatment center. They have trunks is all the rooms filled with quilts that people can pick a quilt from to use during their treatments and keep after they are done.

I got 2 quilts quilted yesterday using my fancy stitches on my machine following seams. Have to bind them next. Today I have a panel in the center of one of the quilts, and I plan to FMQ it, then stitch in a ditch the borders to allow focus on the panel and the FMQing. It is snowing here today as predicted, we are forecasted to receive 3-6 inches. Good day to sew. I will plan to check in later to follow everyones progress. Happy sewing everyone.

It is snowing here too! Lightly and pretty -- but it might change my otherwise outdoor plans for the day. Especially if I bring the hubby along, he does accepts it but does not choose to co-exist with the cold white stuff.

I am done: end result, 4 twin-size and larger batts, 5 medium 45" square give or take the random inch or two. I also like the suggestion of returning the smaller pieces for mug rugs or QAYG projects. Let's see if there's any takers for that.
Now, on to something I do like to do!!

QuiltMom2 I sorted and organized my batting and that was enough. Didn't even attempt to piece it together yet. Loved tropits idea for the batting.
    JENNRIR Enjoy your new machine!

Yesterday got backging, top and batting ready and loaded. Got some quilting done before DH got home. Today after errands, bad weather heading our way, got some quilting done and decided to start cutting the binding. Realized the piece of fabric for the binding in the kit wasn't enough Needed one more strip. Knew a LQS about a half hour away had that line of fabric so DH and I went and then stopped for an early dinner. Tomorrow make the binding and sew it on.

Quiltahmama--amazing what you find when organizing!

Iceblossom--how much snow did you get?

No quilting here today. I was making the rounds and visiting several friends today while in town. I'll see a few more friends at church tomorrow then head home after the service. Monday is supposed to be quilte rainy so sounds like a good day to work on some handwork.

I'll check back in after I get home tomorrow night

Finished one raggy quilt and am putting rows together on the second one. Still have lots of flannel left but not blocks. Thinking I will need a flannel break after the second raggy. Next week I am taking a class and the week after I am teaching a class so I suppose it's time to start getting those organized. :-) Love seeing all the items others are working on or finishing! Keep on sewing!

Well, feeling ever-so-virtuous that my part of the batting project is done I did another 5 blocks on the scrappy strip blocks, and started to attack the strips and strings mountain on my cutting table. I cut 3", 2.5", and 1.5" strips from whatever is at hand, the rest gets trashed. At which point we're talking leftover string and threads. I used to save those to stuff toys but I've been off doing those for a while.
