By myself. Except for the grandson who likes to watch when he is here on his weekend, or the furkids who like to sit under my feet.

Solo - currently work full time and sewing in solitude at home.

On my "someday list", is a quilt retreat with other people. Until then, I attempt to set up weekend retreats at home a few times a year. All the supplies needed for projects are gathered up and put into large zip lock bags. Fresh and cooked food is prepared ahead of time. Come home Friday afternoon, put comfy clothes on and begin sewing/quilting. Voila! Instant retreat. Well, that's the plan anyway. As always, there are usually interruptions. :D

It sounds like most everyone feels that the way they do it works best for them!

I do have two friends who quilt, but neither is local. I guess the difference is they are friends FIRST and quilt buddies second...

I am definately a solitary quilter. When I work I need a lot of things to be just right. I am a tv channel surfer, and that makes anyone down in the room with me angry. I have my music, my audiobook. I don't even like being disturbed when I am on break and reading. I don't like to feel my work is being compared to anyone elses, or accept critique unles I ask for it.

hmmm.. I would say I am more of a loner as my dh works nights and I find that some people are more into the politics of a guild than actually quilting, imho but that is of course my opinion. SO I fit in my quilting when I can and how I can, not many guilds/groups are that way, so I would say by myself.

I enjoy being alone in my sewing room to sew, read, Bible study, and just piddle. I have gone to a few classes seems the chitchat made it go slow. Guess I'm a loner at heart.

I sew by myself. I am not a class person. I don't seem to get much done in a class. The youngest is no longer at home, so it's me and the pit bull. The pit bull doesn't like me sewing, so therefore I have to sew when he's outside.

I sew alone. I have never joined a quilt group. I think it's because I don't like having to be at a certain place at a certain time, and not sure how the groups work. Having to do certain things. I kind of do my own thing and don't want to have to do just a set thing/s. Yep I am weird and I admit it. :o)

I sew alone most of the time, but not by choice. I'm disabled and shlepping my sewing machine is too hard. I'm considering creating a group to meet at the local book store coffee shop to do handwork and chat. I'd probably get my hexagons done if I did that.
