Sewing on the binding. Until recently, I was always afraid to get to that part but after several videos I am getting the hang of it. Plus, since I had lots of unbound quilts, I am getting the practice. LOL

Try building your quilts in quarters, that way only three big seams...

This is also my biggest dislike, plus the measuring for the batting & backing.

The part I hate the most is the cutting out and then basting the quilt to get it ready for the quilt frame

I like all of the process to make a quilt. After 142 comforters, and biscuit quilts things are becoming a lot easier, faster and neater. I finish one and start another. My life is full and I love staying busy.

Color choice, then finding the right quilting pattern. These are not bad...just that I can sit and look at a pattern and fabrics for a full day, and still question the choices I make. Same goes for quilting ...I load on the longarm & then stare at the quilt for hours, and sometimes days before I just decide to go for it.

As much as I dislike ironing clothes, somehow I have accepted ironing fabric as somewhat soothing. I set the ironing board up, put on my favorite show or movie and iron away. Since I prewash my fabrics, I need to iron, but there is something to be said for nicely ironed, crisp fabrics and ready to start cutting and quilting. The least favorite part of quilting is getting the quilt sandwiched, even small things like table runners and placemats, although having enough space to stretch out the quilt might make it easier. In a pinch, especially when making larger bed quilts, I enlist the help of my DH, who helps reluctantly, but he helps.
