ME-- I start out at 4yds and if the bolt only has a couple more yds I'll finish the bolt -I just bought a 30yd bolt at 72w of heavy cotton- its white but at 50cent a yd I couldn't pass it up I'm sure I'll find some thing to do with it :-) -Thats what I like the most about "left-over" fabric it never goes to waste :thumbup:

Quiltfabrics are very expensive here in the netherlands.
When I was going to buy it here I wouldn't get extra's because of the price.
But now that I order online in the USA I usually buy generous.....and that's more comfortable because I need not be afraid to make a mistake with cutting or so.....

When making anything larger than my smallest craft type projects always get extra for mistakes or a new small project. I always take that end of bolt remnant at Joanne's and I'm prety good at fold count so sometimes use it to my advantage.
