Actually, I think ALL solids would be boring. Have you thought of using batiks?

I used Adobe Illustrator, but I have ordered eq7 and when it comes I will put it in there (after I learn how to use it :) ). I want to try the design with some batiks and with some tone on tones to see how it looks.

even if you could find the blues, they might not blend like you want. Im'of the oppinion that you might incorperate some tiny prints or blue on blue prints, or maybe use another color along with the blues. It;s a great pattern. I really like the change in the corner units.

    Hi Carol,
I think it is a great design. I would make it with small prints, and tone-in-tone fabrics... and and a few in large prints...there is much more variety in prints than in solids. With all the different shades of blue it will look stunning.
Please , don't forget to show a picture , maybe half done ?
    Good luck  :-D

That is going to be a stunning quilt. I love your design and colors, of course blues, purples and green are my favorite colors. you might add a little texture, not a lot just a little. but please don't take forever. I really want to see this one when its finished. God bless. Penny

The design is beautiful - I LOVE stretched stars. I really like the way the solids look in the pattern - really striking.

To me solids or prints isn't necessarily the issue, it would be staying within the right color spectrum. I would probably have to add some color other than the white picture frame border, although now that I say that I did a blue and white quilt for my son's high school graduation (school colors.) The lay out is intriguing. Make sure you post a finished project picture! And maybe an update on your fabric once you choose it! Always interesting to see what others are working on.

I know of a place online that has all the colors you need in solid blues. thousandsofbolts.com, I just came from there. I remembered your post, so check it out can't hurt. I saw more blues than you would need. :)
