Marsye's gret grandson, Jack, the youngest Ripper was quite clever and relized that Marsye needed something special to make her costumes with, so he came up with this.

Since so much of the old fabric for the quilts was old and scratchy Marsey found an herb that she started putting in her rinse bin for her wash that made the fabric soft and non clingy. Since she found it deep down in the ground, she called it downy. Then thru her quilt guild they started making small quilts to donate to all the orphan kids with the pox and called them children's downy pox quilts.

Those little poxy orphans with beautiful quilts that had all been homemade with love soon found that they were growing and prospering on the frontier. They spread out to all corners of the Earth and spread love and goodness everywhere they went.

One of the poxy orphans was only know as Johnny, poor little guy walked around with only a pot on his head planting apple seeds everywhere he went so that for many generations to come orphans could find food wherever they may be.

And, from Sue's beautiful wedding day picture you can tell she looked a lot like her great grandmother Marsye when she was pickin' 'em up at the saloon...both very, very pretty.
