This is probably too late for your birthday trip to Lancaster but I grew up in Lancaster and while I no longer live there when I do go back to visit family and friends I always hit the central market first and eat my way through there and then I hit the amish quilt stores that sell their homemade quilts at outrageous prices but they are so pretty to look at it's worth the trip. And depending on the time of the year the scenery makes the trip worthwhile too.
