Your quilt is lovely. If you put sashing around every block, you would end up with double sashing, but if you "forgot" the top OR bottom sashing as you made your rows, it would work. You may have to remove some of the sashing to avoid doubles or if you don't have too many already pieced, you could make some of the blocks without sashing top and bottom and put them together. You can make this work with little or no ripping!

If I am understanding it correctly, the next row you add will not have cornerstones on it, it will just be sashing, block, sashing, block. The row after that one will have cornerstones again; then you will alternate rows as you go, every other row having cornerstones and the alternating row just sashing and block. I don't see any need to add an inch to the blocks.

If it is any consolation, it is lovely! I love the colours and the look you have at the moment. Once it's done, it will look fantastic! Just keep at it and once it is completed, all your efforts will be worthwhile!

If you don't want a second sashing around each block because its not the effect what you want, can you not make new blocks and add them to try and get the look you want? You could end up with either a bigger quilt or 2 of the same and donate one to charity or give one away as a gift?

Best wishes!
