    This might sound funny but once i used the little,bigger than sand,red ants have those little rock pellets?I raided the ant hill.I cleaned it good,got all the dirt out and used that.Works fine,and heavier than sand.

    I just realized I didn't post any pics of my little chicken, next time I think I will use sand. I find it a better consistency to stick the pins in than rice.

    I love your hens. I need to put mine together so they can have a hen party too. I use rice, walnut shells, sand, . Thanks for sharing these. I love them.
