I've been working on a quilt top. I promised someone at church that I'd have a quilt to bring to church soon, and I think she thinks I meant before Christmas. I don't think that's going to happen. It's a D9P with a 4-patch (set on diagonal) border. I had the 4-patches arranged nicely every third one a different color, then when I sewed on the border strips to each end I put them upside down, so the colors are not in the order I intended. But, I didn't seam rip it, just left it. The back is three pieces-- 2 strips are a sheet and the middle strip not, and I hope it doesn't cause a problem after I wash it. I decided to send it to be machine quilted. I want to get it done quicker... It's my first time ever letting someone else do the quilting... I feel half relief and half bad about that.

After whining about my bathroom remodel for the past few months I can finally say it's finished. Well, almost. We're just waiting for the glass doors to be installed on the shower and that will be another 2 weeks away. (They couldn't measure for them until all the other tile work was finished). I love it--turned out better than I expected. Just like picking fabric for quilting I didn't trust my color choices for tile; I really lack self-confidence. It's soft grays & blues against white marble--looks so pretty. Still using mini-shower in basement but not for long.

I haven't done any sewing since October. MrJan says I'm really cranky and need to get back in the Bat Cave. I agree. I'm planning on doing just that after I run some errands. I've probably forgotten how to thread my machine LOL.

I've been keeping up with the posts here. Everyone is so busy but aren't we blessed that we can do all the things we do? Have a great day, ladies, and do something you love!

Oh so cute Ok!! I love to work with the little bits of fabric...

Work out at PT this morning was a struggle with some of the machines & leg raises....A nice hot bath will fix that..

I'll be off with my neighbors to the monthly Ladies Lunch at a new restaurant...Today is Veterans Day..Remember to thank them for their service...Today is a go out to eat day.. We'll be going to a free for Vets dinner tonite.. I'll probably put on 5 lbs today from all the food I'll be eating...
Glad to hear your remodel is almost complete Jan. Well, time to get ready to do something with my hair for today's outing...Have a good day all of you..H.

Baked Grandma's Sweet Rolls today again, two pans full. These instead of Yukon Gold potato in them, had sweet potato in the dough. One batch out, one batch to go...coming out in eight minutes. First pan has chopped dates in it, the second has raisins, golden and dark in it.

Might have company next week and bake the Sweet Rolls again. They are so light and fluffy and spiced just right. Might add frosting on top of them...fine chopped pecans are in the bottom of the pan.

Thinking about the border on the PC and think I have a solution there...will post next week if it works.

Friday the 13th of November. It figures that Dh left a pan on the stove and went outside the house. When I smelled smoke I left my quilting room to check on things. Fire was shooting flames up to the hood of the stove...filled the kitchen and Great room with smoke. So I shut off the stove and looked for a lid to put over the top of the pan, but the flames died down and went out. I carried a fan into the kitchen to blow out the smoke, opened all doors and few windows and put a fan in Dh bedroom to blow all the smoke out of the house. No damage to anything, not even the pan. We were lucky.

Eva block is done. Finished. Taking a break eating one of my Cinnamon Rolls. MMMMmmmmm, good!

QNS, Oh, my! Thank goodness you and your house are safe. What a relief. Quick thinking about the pan lid! I always forget what I'm supposed to do about kitchen stove fires. At our house it's usually boiling eggs... they are forgotten, the water boils away, then the eggs pop, and the insides spray everywhere.
