Hi Natalie, This is quilted with Glide thread made by Filtec. I think the color is ivory. Yes I drew out the cat with watersoluble marker and then did all the background zentangling free hand. A few of the doodles I used a curved ruler to outline. The very first cat I did quilt the outline first but once I got going I did background fill right up to my drawn line for the next cat in the border and didn't bother to outline quilt the cat until I had done a bit of fill behind it. I used the outlined of the cat to travel to different areas of the border if I needed to.

I've starting doodling and it looks like art! I can't even draw stick figure. I never heard of zentangle so I found it on the internet and away I went. Wish I had more time but I'll be at the doctor's office tomorrow. Maybe I won't mind waiting for my appointment. Maybe when my mind accepts doodling or gets trained, just maybe it will translate into quilt doodling. Did you do your cat quilt with a long arm or domestic?
Thanks again. So fun to look at your beautiful quilt.

That quilt is spectacular! Not only do I love, love, love Laurel Burch fabrics (I have some of this cat fabric or a quilt for DD), your quilting is... fabulous! Stunning! Awesome! Thank you for sharing this with us!!!
