Buy a Martelli - had a June T. and it's too bendy.

Didn't know Martelli sold the slotted rulers. I love the Martelli products.

i don't like them for exactly that reason. i exert too much pressure and the plastic is too flexible and 'bends'. i like a sturdier ruler.

is that really the price? $64.00? and you have to cut the strips individually? or am i looking at the wrong item?

I had never heard of them and looked them up, seems like that is the price. yipes. Bendy doesn't matter if you are cutting, it is flat against the table

I have a hard time cutting even strips and squares even when I use a ruler. My eyes tend to skip between those tiny lines, and often my strips and squares are somewhere between 1/16 and 1/4th off every single time. I get it all laid out, and they just don't perfectly line up. I get so frustrated. I use a rotary cutter, a cutting mat and a nice Fons and Porter ruler. So I was looking online for some solutions, and I'm interested in this June Tailor Shape Cut Slotted Ruler. Does anyone else use these? Do they help the straight-lined challenged folks like myself, or are they a waste of money?

I know this is late ... but, sometimes I do tilt my rotary cutter when using those slotted rulers. It is what it is. They are good for cutting strips for making fabric bowls ... where it doesn't matter if the strips are cut accurately.

For accuracy I use my alto's Quilt Cut 2.

Thanks!
Kat

I am much more accurate using the shape cut then without..I have the tendency to bear to the left..(I am left handed) at the end of my strips otherwise..and of course this waste fabric..I had so much more time before I discovered The Quiltingboard..lol
