So....I have a ? for everyone. When you go to use the blocks will you just connect them all together or will you use a sashing? I'm thinking about using the fabric that I sent to everyone. Would that make it to bland you think? Do you think some of the blocks will lose their pazzazz if I do that?

i would suggest that you lay your blocks together and see what the layout looks like. like me you will have a variety of colors to go along with your focus fabric and you want the blocks to play well together in a quilt.

i plan to sash my blocks with a fabric i hope will unify the different blocks and colors. there is a quilt book called "setting solutions" by sharyn craig that gives great ideas on putting together swap blocks. i ordered a copy on amazon.

I plan to use my fabric that I sent out as sashing and maybe a border. haven't decided on a border yet. Depends on how big the quilt turns out to be.

Mailed everybody's block out yesterday. Would have made the deadline except for the holiday.
It's been an awesome Boom! I was on both north and south and got enough for a queen size and two twin size for my granddaughter's bunk beds. And every single one was beautiful. Not one disappointment in the lot. Great job everyone and see you in Boom 6!

Hugs, DonnaD

Last boom I came up one short. So far I'm missing 11 blocks but expect they will all show up in the next few days. Don't worry. Everybody on the board and the boom is honest and they may be late but they will show up. Sometimes things just hinder. And sometimes we put things off until the last minute. Quilters are like that. ;)
