I bought a longarm 10 years ago thinking I'd start this little part time business and get my Mom's & my quilts completed. The joke is on me!

This so-called little business has kept me too busy to quilt my own quilts, let alone my Mom's. I've gotten a few of Mom's done, but at 92 she is making more tops than I am.

My turn around is 1 month plus as I still work full time.

For me, that's the fun of quilting.

I either hand or machine quilt my own quilts on my dm. We are on a fixed income and just can't afford a longarm quilter. But at times I wish I could. Have a special quilt top I have would love to have done.

I quilt my own, it is just more economical for me, I can't afford to send mine out.

Which Bernina do you have, if I may ask? I just recently got the 830 and am hoping to quilt on it. Thanks

I quilt my own either on my DSM or by hand. I want to learn FMQ but haven't tried yet.

I've done mine table top on several machines for about 5 years. In fact I have burned up a few singers and kenmores then 3 years ago I bought the Juki 98TLQ. Made FMQ so much easier. Then just last week I finally bought the new grace frame and juki 2000. I'm just starting my first one on it.

I quilt my own. I started on my kenmore with a 6inch throat space. I later bought a Riccar and it has a 7 inch throat space (1 inch makes a huge differences) Then I started doing straight line quilting on my Singer 66 treadle that has a 8 inch throat space and now I got a Singer 15 treadle to FMQ and it has a 7 inch.

I would love to send some out as they are hard to get through my machine but I can afford it so I do that best I can

Do my own - nothing real fancy though. Am trying to save up to get a longarm - only problem is my stash and UFOs continue to grow and the savings keeps dwindling. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
