Took 3 of the 500mcg of Melatonin last night, it didn't work and my back was really aching, not a usual thing. Had to get up and take 2 x-strenth tylenol and half an Ambien. Finally went to sleep about 1

I've taken both melatonin and valerian, and they worked for me, but I've found something even better, and I buy it at Walmart. It's called Alteril (somnia latoril) - All Natural Sleep Aid, Maximum Strength. It has both Valerian and Melatonin and a few other herbs that are good for you.

if you go to the tab "Get it today" it will list all the stores that it is available at.
I've taken Ambien, Lunesta and never seem to keep me asleep all night long, still wokeup exhausted. Special note about Melatonin, you should only take 3 days in a row and then take a break.
This stuff Alteril, you can take either one or two, depending how tired you are. I usual take one during the week, then sometimes I will do 2 on the weekend. I even gone without it, and slept all night. I've stuggled for 8+ years with trouble sleeping.
Hope you try this out. You deserve a good nights sleep.

My husband's Dr. told him that the body produces it's own melatonin. If you take a melatonin supplement then the body will quilt producing it. He recommended taking Magnesium Glycinate. My husband takes it at bedtime and sleeps like a baby. Note: there are 2 different magnesiums. Make sure you ask the pharmacist for the sleeping one.lol

I was on Ambien for 10 years and when I had my triple bypass a few months ago it triggered pancreatitis, which is worse than having heart surgery. Who would have thought that a sleeping pill could cause all these problems? Have been hospitalized 7 times in the last 4 months.
