Here are my blocks. I was so exited that I was going to paper piece the blocks and going outside of my comfort zone.... #1 is paper pieced... guess what...#2 is not... I waisted so much fabric on #1... but at the end I am pleased. I might try another paper piecing. What do you say?

Yeah, I'm learning how to paper piece for this quilt. It's very precise. Is it just me or is there a lot of waste fabric when paper piecing? I seem to have lots of tiny scraps after I've trimmed. Lots of little pieces of paper all over too. I have the book "No-Stress Paper Piecing" by Carolyn Cullinan McCormick and it explains a lot and I've drawn in some of the FW blocks in Quilt Assistant. My only problem with that program is that it prints out the units right next to each other and doesn't leave any room for margins. I print out two copies so I have the margins.

Hang in there with paper piecing! There are ways to minimize the amount of fabric used. You can PM me if you need some help!

is there a tutorial on paper piecing. I' really don't like waste and always thought pp might use more fabric. I looked on the site but didn't find one.

Muriel (AkAngel) is enlisting people to write tutorials. Today she asked for people who felt comfortable with different aspects of FW to PM her. I gave her my name for paper piecing.

If you have questions, you can always PM me, I'd be glad to help!

Meanwhile, I did a search here on the QB and found these links for tutorials on paper piecing. Hope they help!

I love seeing the variety of color combinations. when I first looked at her picture I could only see dark, muted colors, but all of these pictures give me some good ideas. Y'ALL keep posting the pictures. I'll post mine when my granddaughter gets here to show me how to do it. Dolores from Texas.
