judycents, I LOVE the fabric in your quilt. I finished the Michigan Star block I needed for church. The other picture is of the quilt I finished piecing yesterday before the 8900 went kerflooey! The hand wheel wouldn't turn again this morning but I cleaned the bobbin area again and the wheel seems a little looser. I don't know if I'm going to try using it again tonight, or wait until Wednesday.

I hope others are having a fun productive day

Got all the rest of my 61 chunky churn dash blocks finished... (below). Now all I need to do is put the 60 black and white hourglass blocks together and I can begin my layout. I showed the layout in my first post, #64 in this thread on pg. 7. I'm excited to see what it will look like laid out.

Are many of us still sewing today? Anybody out there???

Well I had a weekend of unsewing after deciding I didn't like the plain sashing on my Selvedge quilt!! I've started to re-do it with added cornerstones!!! (I really should spend more time planning instead of winging it!!! ) I also did a few more scrappy squares that I started on line with my special QB friend Izy!! She sent me all the instructions via pictures on my IPad and I had to do a block and post pics back to her!!! She is such a taskmaster!!! It'll be another 'ongoing project'!!!! Thanks Izy! You're such an inspiration!! She's slowly getting me into 'organised' mode!!! Thanks for a great weekends sewing!

sewbizgirl, love those churn dash blocks and hourglass ones. It has been pretty quiet on here today; maybe more people had to return to work than I thought.

Hilary, your quilt looks great. The purple block is very pretty, that's the one your friend gave you directions to?

And you're welcome for setting this up

Yes, just checking in, although I'm not doing fun sewing. I've been mending the quilt I made for DD's wedding 7 years ago, it gets alot of use and washings and even though the fabrics are good quality and it is hand quilted, some of the squares need some TLC. They have an Ikea bed that is close to the floor and so they & the 2 dogs lounge on it. I'm not complaining, I'm thrilled they love it, but it's faded.....Last night gave her the choice of 3 different queen size... she chose my Galaxy of Stars one.... it's also hand quilted etc. hope it lasts at least 7 years

Yes Heather...the purple one was the first I made.....Izy is getting me to use my scraps in colour order, ie all red, all blue, all yellow etc! It's making me sort my scraps into colours rather than pushed into a bin regardless of colour!! Check out her profile and you will see she does fabulous scrappies but controlled!!! The blocks are mainly flip n stitch on paper....quite addictive...I've managed 10 so far...but need to sort more colour strips to get a good variation!!

Well, I turned out to be a bit of a dud this long weekend. Just the little bits I shared on Saturday. I did manage to load a quilt on the longarm this morning. It was partially quilted, and removed to accommodate a comfort quilt that needed to be done quickly, awhile back. A shipment of WOW fabric showed up today. Kind of blah, but happy to have my stock replenished. Thus ends my not so productive quilting weekend.

I truly enjoyed see what every one else was up to, all in one thread. Sorry i didn't comment on everything. Thanks for hosting, RaggieMom. See you all next time ;-)
