Well, Here is my first try, I'm afraid it will be a controlled scrappy. I had to visit my dear aunt (who is a quilter)today to get a few more lights but my first part is already finished, maybe later for them.
Could someone please explain light brights to me for next weeks fabric? these are the things that I have trouble with.
Thank You Judy for doing these mystery's, they help me grow as a quilter. With all the food on board I'll need to run along side the caboose for a while each day to keep for growing in others ways.

I think light brights are like yellows, pinks, light colors in blue, red, green purple. I think.
compared to a darker shade of these colors.

Try to stay warm Lynnie. I love the navy with the speckles. I have a black like it that I used on a snow globe quilt many years ago for one of my great grandsons. It looked perfect for night with snow falling. It's a simple print but so nice to use.

Windblown -- Lynnie's take is pretty much like mine. I call "light brights" things that are NOT screaming yellow or brilliant orange or shocking turquoise blue, as opposed to soft yellows and light orange and a blue that isn't pastel baby or medium blue. Make sense? I guess color names are really arbitrary. Love your blocks, your controlled scrappy will be great.

Baron -- love your dotty fabric. I am a huge fan of irregular polka dots, as I call them.

Looks like I caught this train just in time. I still have the final border to finish on #8, but can't resist starting this one. At least finding some fabric to use for it. I will get caught up?????

Thank You Judy and Lynnie for the info on "light brights". My thoughts were leaning that direction but then I thought No those are mediums! my confusion!

I thought I was done with my 4-patches but when I counted them I was only half done. Guess I forgot how to count. Oopsie!
That Marshall's website is pretty tempting. I don't have much for blender fabrics and their prices are good. I did find a nice dark blue in my stash to use for this MQ.
No sewing for me today. I'm hosting my card group in about an hour so working on food. The taco soup smells so good. I left some in the club car for you ladies!
Judy, I have a question. I absolutely LOVE your other 2 scrappy mysteries. Do you think I will love this one just as much? I'm thinking about doing a queen size if you say yes.

My church quilting group received a donation of the large angled pieces of fabric in a variety of colors. There is some yardage also to match this dark green. It took a little while to cut enough WOF but fortunately there was a selvedge edge so I could get the WOF grain correct.

I do have multiples of most of the lights.
