I have always said I couldn't draw a straight line with a rule and neigther can I sew a straight line even though I have been trying for 60 years. I think the world is full of crooked liners or linees!

When I was making the strap for a bag that my son helped make I used as stack of tape to the right for my 1/4 inch guide and then put another stack of tape on the left - the width of the strap - so that my seam wouldn't be all over the place. Obviously that won't work for much of the piece work, but definitely helped for that small project.

Cheers, K

The difference I felt going from a 1990's Singer to my 1970's Bernina was night and day. On the Singer the fabric constantly pulls left - not just drift. On the Bernina I don't have to fight the fabric as I feed it through. It has made sewing so much happier for me.

If we waited until we were perfect we would never finish a quilt. I sometimes have a good block and sometimes I sort of make them fit, Am I all alone or is this quilting in the norm of things?

I think we are the rule and not the exception, from the responses I've been getting! :)
