Mine is about 17 years old.
Maybe you can still do the straight line. Or stitch in the ditch.

i have a mixture of differnet machines. Some drop feed dogs others don't. I tend to use one machine for a specific quilt or topic. i donot have thev long arm your are talking about but a fram similiar to the Little Grace size 8ft. i use it sometimes to just sandwich layers easily or a quilt using a juke with the widest space from needle to bar.????
i also like to do free motion on my brother, feed dogs down .
i have used youtube agreat deal to give me confidence to have a go after years of leaving the quilting and never finishing a quilt. i also like hand quilting. i live on my own my sewing room is my whole cottage.
i must go as i am going to purchase an old treadle machine. Gave mine away a few years ago and regreted it ever since.

be in tyouch when i get back.
