You must be joking mine are not all neat and perfect and certainly I am not using such appealing fabrics as some. That is becasuse I am Dotty.

Love is in the eye of the beholder; each has their own choice of material and way of making the block. All are unique to each of us, and very special because we have made them and we get share on this site, thanks to the many individuals hard work to get it up and going. Hurrah, I finally found the way to posting thanks to others for advice.

To tell the truth - when all is said and done - I always love the quilts that are the most random. They are usually so rich and fit in anywhere.

My squares are having a hard time coming out big enough. They are but just barely. I think I am going to have to cut a little bigger. I am making my own plastic templates so I will also adjust so that my lines are a little further away from the template. I think as long as I am consistent I should be fine.

Does anyone use the Marti Mitchell templates or the tri tool or the ones that the FW yahoo group have posted in a file? Does it help?

I use the Marti Mitchell templates - but I didn't know that they had been posted on the Yahoo site.

What sets do you have? And do you think they help you? It looks like you would use all the sets - a,b,c,d, to make the quilt. Is it hard to use them?

Ok, here is my first block. It measures out to 6 and 3/8, so its close enough for me. I am hand piecing, so not going to be too picky because this one took my longer than pllanned. Hopefully I get faster at this as the quilt goes along.
