I have one of those electrified wonders. I just got done sewing a bag out of upholstery fabric for my DIL's birthday. The bag is mostly done or I would snap a picture. I will say it was noisy - mostly the toothy belt but the shuttle made a clatter, too. BUT that said. It went through that upholstery material like nobody's business. I thought I didn't like that machine. I am having to eat my words. For an old long bobbin machine it was not bad at all. I never even ran out of thread. The only thing that would have gone through better would be a walking foot. That machine just keeps going. The motor on it is a good one, too. I do need some ear plugs........

I can't get down there or I would call.
A free Free brand treadle with the peacocks. I don't know if you have to buy the Singer or not.

Ha! The free "Free" looks in better shape than the $120 Singer.

An electric sewing machine in 1874? Correct me if I'm wrong but this ad just doesn't look right to me.
    It's 1897 (model 27) too: Why can't anyone distinguish 7 digits from 8 digits?

I have to separate the large numbers with commas so I get them right. Otherwise I do the same mistake.

Well it's a lot better than my effort from January (my second effort at free motion embroidery, done in a hurry, my cat wrote it, <add lame excuse here>).

EDIT: It did sell within a few days! Pinnock model 101 (1964).
