2015/16 birthday swap...candy style 2.5"
#1831
Hello, all and especially your February Birthday Gals. I have the envelopes stuffed, addressed and stamped but I need to have a helper get them to the mailbox for me. Now, why is that such a big deal? Sunday I fell in the church parking lot and broke my pelvis in three places. Ambulance, ER, hospital stay, walker, no weight bearing on one leg, no driving and moving on Wednesday to a condo! Yikes!! I am so glad that my family and church friends are stepping in to help. I could not imagine making this happen on my own.
I am sure your sweet birthday treats will arrive on time, but I did promise them sooner. "Quilt on" and enjoy your winter quilting projects. Love to see how we all use those little squares to create beauty and warmth.

Hello Ladies,
I have been in touch with Michellesews. She has let me know that her husband who is suffering from ALS is now at the end stage of this terrible disease. Please keep Michelle, her husband and the whole family in your thoughts and prayers.

Healing thoughts and comfort are coming your way ladies. Life is certainly a challenge to all of us but I believe that there is a plan...we just don't know what it is. You are all strong and triumphant, all of us are there with you in thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through your difficult times.

I understand the final stages of ALS. It just came rushing back to me. My sister-in-law passed away as a result of ALS. She was the family quilter and a marvelous one at that who left a heritage of quilts for her family. I got her stash and tools. My daughter got her sewing machine. I dove into quilting after her passing to keep her "alive" in our memories. ALS is a challenging disease. Michelle will need support, loving care now and in the future. Prayers will sooth, good encouragement and a laugh or two daily are needed to keep her strong and healing. Oh so difficult to lose your love.

No surgery! As long as I am "good" and the bones don't move out of alignment, I will not need surgery. No dancing the tango or 5k runs and keep the weight off my left leg is the key I am told. Also..... don't fall down again! It is not in my plan but neither was the fall! I am moving ahead.... slowly.
