I 'talked' via texting with my daughter this morning, and my older son sent me this beautiful picture of him and baby Millie.

A group of us ladies from church went out to lunch at our local diner yesterday after services. Lunch was great and we got the most pleasant surprise as we paid to leave. We were asked if we were a mom. All of us were. The checkout lady turned around and handed each of us a long stemmed rose and wished us a happy mother's day! I have mine in a bud vase and it is gorgeous! The scent is slightly spicy and delicious. IMHO, that's the best advertising they could do for the whole year. I hope everybody's Mother's Day was as pleasant as mine.

Good morning, Laters. I hope all the Moms in the group had a pleasant day. Mine was quiet but both sons checked in with long phone calls. Short of seeing them in person, I couldn't ask for more. I just love a nice long chat with them. 
That's what makes me happy. DS#1 is now in NC and getting settled. He's still on the job hunt but he has some leads. Fingers are crossed. My DS#2 is settled into his new house (first home purchase!) and is itching to get started building some simple furniture. He's built a couple of pieces and wants to increase his skills. Now that he's got a house and a good size garage, he can do that.
This last week has been very busy and I'm way behind on my emails and wrapping up Boom 22. I'm planning to finish up the QB feedback this week. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write to me. Quickly summing up the feedback I've received, it's been overwhelmingly positive. Good construction and well-sized beautiful blocks. There has been mention of a few small blocks, narrow seams, and occasional use of sewing thread that didn't match the fabrics so that it stood out on the finished block. (Picture black thread on white fabric.) I found the same things myself when I scanned some blocks so I didn't receive any surprises. So from my point of view, I'd say this has been a successful round. Thank you to everyone!

I've been working on a 3D block quilt, the body is finished pieced, assembled and quilted (qayg) w/ a fleece backing. Now on to the borders, but I have to wait for a trim to get here that I ordered for it.

Just finished with my feedback for all - please let me know if I missed anyone! Thank you everyone, again, for the gorgeous blocks. They all are just wonderful and I had a grand time participating. I've decided my summer has too many obligations to fairly participate in Boom 23 but I do hope to re-join you lovely gals later in the year!

Anyone recall that back on 4/23 I said I wasn’t counting any chickens before they were hatched in reference to grands? Anyone? Anyone? I’m now counting. Grand on the way!!!!! Ten hours - 10! - after I made that post, DH and his gf called with the news but they didn’t want us to tell anyone until after the first doc appointment. That was a few hours ago. Baby chick looks healthy and is scheduled to appear on Dec 23! Call me Granny Janny!!!
