We haven't had even one sewing sew on our PBS channel for years (San Diego CA). Only children's programming during the day.
Eleanor Burns is a local celebrity too! I never watch in the evening either because all they do is campaign for money. When they have a nice mix of programming I'll consider a donation.

There were no quilting shows due to the fund raising and it seems like it goes on and on. One year I donated, there was a cool concert with James Taylor and I wanted the dvd. Had I been more savvy, I would have known that it wasn't a 'live' concert and that Hastings had the dvd for $19.99, instead of the $100 I donated. I know that there is a reason for a lot of things but that one puckered my butt for a long time.

Some of my favorite shows are on PBS but usually in the middle of the night for the sewing ones. There used to be adult shows on Sat and Sunday but now just the same childrens shows they show through the week. I do get Fons and Porter at 4am though. Strangely enough I wake at 4am sometimes (not on purpose) and watch it in bed.

I had just started getting into Fons and Porter on PBS last fall when they took it off Detroit tv. Elinor Burns is on RFD (wouldn't have found her if my dad hadn't insisted I check it out). Are there any other cable stations that carry quilting shows? (I'm still pretty new to all this, and not much of a tv watcher).

Most times there are other shows on PBS, but about every 2nd week I get Nancy, no more Fons and Porter , however, on BYU channel at o'dark thirty and 10 A.M. is Fons and Porter. I already have "cooked, redecorated, solved the worlds problems" now I want to just relax with "friends."
