My mum and MIL are gone, and only one of my offspring are near enough to be together, youngest DD in New Zealand, and DS in New York state (will visit with him some weekend in the future), so my oldest DD, DGS, DH and I are all going to an area restaurant buffet brunch. We went there for Easter and it was fabulous, made reservations right then for Mother's Day...so for a change, I won't wind up cooking for Mothers Day and DH won't have to clean up. Sweet!

    Happy Mum's Day to all!

My daughter had minor surgery on Friday, so I will be staying home from church and nursing her. My son is coming down from school - he's finished this year but staying in Phoenix for another week - and between him and my dh, they will be grilling steaks in the afternoon. My dad will be here with us. (Mom passed away last year, on May 3, so this is our second Mother's Day without her. Still getting used to it - do you ever? Probably not!) Don't know if my married dd will make it over or not. I'll probably call or Skype call my grandkids in Ohio.

I suspect I'll work on dd's quilt in the morning - finally got all the squares cut out today.

I will be home awaiting phone calls from both my girls (making a sad face). My own mom lives 1200 miles south in Florida, so it'll be a so-so day.
    My garden will be beckoning.

My daughter is away at college and my husband will be leaving mid-morning for a short business trip. I have the entire house to myself!

My mothers day began yesterday.. The ups man delivered chocolate covered strawberries- a ritual every year on Mommys day and my birthday. It's sweet because he brought me a doz on our first date and now they have become a reminder of where we began..My lil kindergartner brought me a flower she planted at school for mothers day along with a beautiful hand made card she made by herself- there's nothing better than that!!... Today my darling picked up my favorite cake from our favorite bakery. French vanilla with strawberries and homemade butter cream icing..... Today we went to the craft fair in Springfield and he Bought me a seven foot steel welded 'day Lilly ' yard art structure - I love it!! My laptop took a nose dive so my mothersday laptop should be here anyday now ...

I am blessed to be a mom and have someone who loves me this much. To give unconditionally.

Spending afternoon with 2 sons and families " The Boys" do the cooking every year. Will talk to both daughters on phone as they live too far to come for Mother's Day! I'm sure we will all be together in spirit.

I'm cooking for 15 of my family. Some of the prep I did today. Tomorrow I will brown roast and cook them low and slow in the oven. Then while the potatoes are cooking I will make cornbread. I made 2 banana puddings today.

I hope all of you Mothers have a great day.

Today is a quiet day-Yesterday was graduation for my son from college. The day was delightful and fun-family, good food and lots of laughing. My dauthers are leaving today-1 to Florida and 1 to Indiana. I plan to take a nice nap this afternoon and relish the thought that my son has completed school-wheeeee!

We're celebrating my bd as well with all the family at DD and SILs this afternoon after church. It's outdoor cooking time in Texas so the grill will be fired up. Happy Mother's Day all!

Our Mother's Day tradition is for my friend Ann and I to go to brunch with my daughter and then to the nursery. We buy our annuals and herbs. Mid May is frost-free planting date here in Bucks County, PA.
