or, using the same fabrics/colors, add different border designs, until you get the size you want? Like a zig/zag border, then squares or rectangles, then a plain border?

I thought of pinwheels in the pinks right away! Another border of the zig zag would be lovely too. It's very pretty, I hope you'll share it when you decide.

I agree! Would do a small blue border, then a border of zig zag then another blue border.
Same here. The zigzag is very striking!

I too see another blue border, a little wider than the first one.. then I see another zigzag border, this time as a cap and base, going the width of the top and bottom and turning each corner down just enough of the side to barely overlap the end of the applique in the first border. Center a small applique flower, leaf and bud to match your other applique on the plain section of this border if you want. Another blue border a little wider, a plain coordinating border and then blue binding.
If I'm going to dream, I might as well dream big, especially since I am not the one doing the work. Smilesssss :D

I agree with adding more of the zigzag. I also think prairie points would look great on this quilt!

Very nice color combo. I have some fabric close to that and I like your idea. Go for it.

I started my very first handpiece/hand quilted shortly before my 70th birthday. It's never too late to start quilting!

Theres no way you can make this into a queensize quilt.
    (80 X 110)?
If you just add a border of this or that, thats what it will look like and you won't be satisfied with the end result after all the time you put into the quilt. Put a blue binding on this one, and lay it across the chair/rocker in your bedroom.
Choose a different design for your queensize quilt.
If you really like the colors on this throw, then carry them over into your queensize quilt.
