For one project I got a packaged batt called Fairfield Organic Cotton, 1/4 inch loft. Later at home I read all the directions and descriptions, and went to the Fairfield website to see all their available batts online. It turns out this specific Organic thin batt is intended for Quilted clothing or small quilts, or any item requiring a sturdy lightweight batting. I was very pleased, after pre-soaking it to reduce shrinkage. I dried it carefully, and put it on the ironing board to remove all wrinkles. Later, after the baby quilt was totally finished, (it was a gift for a newborn) I washed it, and was very very pleased with the softness that resulted.
