I have to figure out how to get some of the quilts you all make to whisper "give me to IrishNY". Hmmm....

It happens to me, too. I even made myself a dress several years ago. I tried it on when it was time to hem it. When I looked in the mirror, I wondered why I was wearing my Mom's dress. I took it off and went to her house. She loved it so I hemmed it for her. She wore it so much she wore it out. It was a light cotton material and just right to wear around the house.

I agree, my quilts do talk to me and eventually lead me to the new owner. Sometimes they even say the should go to ME!

YES!! I recently made two quilts for friends with new homes. I was lucky enough to be able to see both houses finished before I gave them as gifts. I agonized of who should get which quilt as they are both good friends to each other as well as me. I'm very happy with the choice I made as to where these quilts looked better.

I made a "tiger" top a while ago before there was any prospect of a grandchild. A bunny quilt almost done was ready for our granddaughter when she came. Now I have been getting "tiger" ready to be quilted and have vibes. Do you think that a grandson may be in the offing? Magical thinking?

So far I have only made a half dozen quilts, but they each "told me" who they were for at some point in their creation. Usually this thought is inspired by a picture or a fabric's design and color.
From reading the QB, it sounds like a lot of times people set out to make a quilt with one person in mind and then realize as they work on it that it is really meant for someone else.

Hahaha! I'm with you there. I just bought fabrics to make a quilt for a grandchild who isn't even a twinkle in the eye yet.
