Anyone else use this yet? I'm in the search for a good batting to use with a flannel quilt top I've almost finished.

My local Jo-Ann's Fabrics Store did exchange my ruined-in-the-wash batting for a new bag!

When you wash batting, it's more of a soaking process than a washing. Did you just run it through the washer? I always just quilt the batting 'raw' and let it shrink in the washer. Never been an issue, and I love the texture and feel of it.
I preshrink my cotton batting (almost always "Warm & Natural") by putting it in my front-loading washer on the "hand wash" cycle, which includes a very gentle spin. Then I put it into a warm (not hot) dryer. Works great so far!

Cathy - are you trying the Pellon again or did you exchange it for something else? If you are using it, let us know what you think! Thanks!

packages of it are on sale in the newest Joanns flyer and it's labeled NEW.

I've heard that you can just spray the batting with water and toss it in the dryer to get it to shrink. Never tried it though - but I do plan to do it this way if necessary.

I hope your washer is ok.

Maybe we should all email Pellon and tell them what's missing! LOL

Sorry, I am not sure my response went through. Natural Touch batting by Pellon is made from super clean - top quality cotton. As a hand quilter, I use batting with no scrim or wool. Machine quilters will love this one.
