I have one that I bought about three years ago; I kept it even though I upgraded to the 7700 last winter. It has been a fantastic machine for me. It does take a little bit to work out good thread/needle combinations for FMQ but there's lots of help from the Janome Yahoo group and from this board. The best suggestion I ever had for it was to get a second bobbin case and set it for tension for FMQing. That way you don't have to mess with your regular bobbin case when you go back and forth between regular sewing and FMQ.

The stitch quality on regular sewing is great and the Accufeed feet are the best. Love it!

I love mine for the above reasons but the best advice I can give you is to
go test drive one at your dealer. It's a very nice machine but only you can
decide if you like it or not.

I love my 6600 but if I had the money would buy the Horizon because of the larger throat. It sews beautifully and does way more than I need it to do. However, I will say, it is very picky about lint/dust in the bobbin area. Just keep it clean and you should be fine.

if you buy one, i highly recommend you also get the open-toe accufeed foot and the special bobbin case for FMQ. i also use the accufeed quarter-inch foot when it's time to attach the binding. no need for pins, and no puckers. :-)

I bought mine in March of this year and I really love it. Prior to it I was sewing on a Viking 6570 so, obviously, this is quite the upgrade for me.

I love the accufeed - no more messing with a walking foot. Love up/down needle, speed control and the thread cutter. There are really so many things I love about this machine...it's a real gem!

The only problem I have had with it is that, twice, when I took my foot off the pedal the machine kept sewing. I had to turn it off in order to stop it. I had heard that this was a problem with Janome foot pedals so I was not completely surprised. If it continues I will let the dealer know. I also joined the 6500/6600 yahoo group and they recommend cleaning the pedal out so that is another option. I also highly suggest joining that group. Those girls are so smart and share everything they know!!!

I know a gal who does all her FMQ on her 6600 and it always looks wonderful. The accufeed system is wonderful also, I have the Horizon with the same feed system and wouldn't want anything else now. I used to like my other machine before lol.

I don't have one, but that would be the machine I would buy if I was going to buy one! I have used several of my friends and I adore it!

I bought my 6600 over 4-1/2 years ago, and specifically chose it because I wanted to do my own quilting. And I am more than happy with it, it is a great machine.
I have the drop in table for it, all the extra Accufeed feet, and the convertible free motion feet set, blue dot bobbin for fmq and single hole stitch plate, all worth having. Stitch quality is excellent, lots of features. No free arm though if you want that.
