    This is a really simple pattern. Make a 4 patch that becomes 8.5 by 5.5 and put a 2 inch sashing on each of the long sides. you end up with an 8 inch(finished) 8.5 inch raw block. turn one horizontal and the next vertical and keep going until the quilt is the size you want. I did an adaptation of this pattern (didn't make 4 patch) in my dinosaur quilt. See it at : http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-164407-1.htm#4597017
