I have a bad joint in my thumb, and now my index finger tip is starting to act up. I find that at times I can't pick up anything that has any weight to it. I can't do hand writing for any length of time anymore (and I love to write). and doing hand sewing gets painful too. I do all machine quilting but even doing the binding by hand hurts.
I'll have to try one or more of these suggestions!

    Thanks for the testamonial.

I have had to start machine quilting since my neck and shoulder injury from 17 years ago is now full of arthritis and I have trigger fingers on both hands. I still love to hand quilt and if its something small I still do it although it takes me a longer time. I quilt and rest, quilt and rest or go to something else then come back to it.

I use the finger cots and also the rubber fingertips you get at the office supply store, used for sorting mail or going through stacks of paper one at the time, this has really helped me a lot.

Wishing you well and hope you find something to help.

I read in the paper about soaking golden raisins in gin until the gin is absorbed. Then eat 9 raisins a day. My husband and I had both been experiencing some arthritis pain particularly with the colder weather. We have been eating our 9 raisins a day for about a month and it works. The newspaper article said they didn't know why it works and they didn't know the reason for the number, but there is a lot of evidence from sufferers that it is effective. I think you can goggle it and read more info. Good luck.

Now...I love this idea. I drink one mixed drink a night...gin mixed with ginger ale. I have used tonic water but prefer the ginger ale. Anyway...I have osteoarthritis in my wrists...have had it since I was in my 40's from years of typing at work so I'll give this a try. I'll have to check and see if we have any raisins.

There's also a product called "Sore no more", seems to work pretty good. You can Goggle the name and go to their site, and they'll send you a couple free samples, that way you could see if it helps you.

Just read this post and I'm going to order some----several small ones so that I can give them to DB's and DS's. If nothing else it will make for a good laugh. I did the Monkey Butt Powder several years ago.

I, too, love my Osteo Bi-Flex. It saved me from a life of back pain. I take it daily.

Sounds like I need some Osteo Bi Flex! Just when you finally know how to do stuff, your body refuses to do stuff.

Buy a pair of those gloves without fingers that you can use. I use them when I crochet and they really help. Somehow they help keep the heat in your hands which helps a lot.
