And fifth, IMHO, there's no wrong way to make a scrappy quilt, it's all good

A scrappy quilt will be beautiful no matter how many different fabrics you use. Stitch it and enjoy it and don't agonize over your fabric choices.

Scrappy quilts are so much fun. You can never have too many different fabrics and if you run out of one you can just add a new fabric. No stress, everything goes.

I find making scrappy quilts quite liberating! It doesn't matter if you run out of one fabric, just fill in with another one. It will look great. Take the plunge! You'll love it

I love scrappy quilts!! Here is a blog entry by the Queen of scrappy quilts (at least in my opinion), Bonnie Hunter, explaining how she puts her scrappy quilts together:

    http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...appy-mind.html

And if you go to her website, quiltville.com, she has tons of patterns and ideas for using scraps....right down to the tiniest scraps used for her "crumb quilts". Good luck on your quilt!

Also "search" on this board for scrappy quilts -- there were some threads that were for posting scrappies -- WOW, amazing little art gallery right here on this board.

I'm like you. I want everything to go together. I haven't done a scrappy quilt - but plan on making one next week using the disappearing 9 patch for a silent auction item. I have picked out my 9 fabrics and have colors that sort of match.
