Have you checked out http://www.keepsakequilting.com and http://www.connectingthreads.com ? Connecting Threads just came out with a cotton lawn quilt that is especially delicate looking and modern. Here's a link to it: http://www.connectingthreads.com/kit...cs__D5043.html

look at moda bakeshop. Moda came out with a classy baby line with soft pink and gray that I love but they also have a more modern woodlawn line. Also a bright butterfly flower (twirl) line that my 9 year old loves and I'm doing a quilt out of. Can you tell I'm a moda fan?! lol There patterns are free and also missouri star quilting company has free patterns with tutes as well. Happy quilting

One more to try - cluckclucksew.com - she does a lot of contemporary patterns. I just love them. She also has fun blog, one of my favorites with free tutes as well. I wasn't too into the contemporary patterns but now I am because of hers.

The 3-D pinwheel that was mentioned is VERY easy! And adorable! I am running out to get backing for the one I made for grandbambino #4-due this week! Congrats, enjoy, and have fun!

These are some I have done...

No patterns. The first one was done with strips. The second one was made by cutting charm squares in halves and quarters. The last one was made with a half-hexagon ruler, sewing the half-hexes in long strips and then joining them.

I made this quilt for a baby girl - It went pretty quick. It is made up of The flowers are Snowballs with the same color in the middle, and the other 3 corners are the same color as the small squares. 8 rows of 1 1/2" (makes 1 in square) makes the pink patches. Designed by Lisa Boyer @http://lisaboyer.blogspot.com - I copied it, it was so lovely!

    Default Butterfly quilt.

This is what I made for my granddaughter that was born in February. I love it. I found it in a "Leisure Arts" Quilt book called Quilts & Totes for little folks.

A friend made a log cabin with pastel batiks. It was fabulous. Just cut 2 1/2" strips and go to it.

    Good luck.
