I'm new to quilting sitting here like a deer caught in the headlights. I'll be glad when I can answer questions or give advice. For now I'm taking it all in.
Thanks to all of you who do answer questions and comment on the threads. Mega kudos to you!

I think I started "posting" the day I signed up - I've had a dry spell for a while during the conversion to the new board - but now I am back here several times a day and speak up when I see something interesting.

I have to say I lurked for a long time, I was always afraid of joining in on anything in a public forum. My daughter is much braver than I, and belongs to several. I also have to say that this one is definitely way more friendly than most of hers, thank goodness! I just love quilters and their willingness to share not only their projects, but information as well. I really love this place!

Maybe we could throw down a challenge of some kind. It is always the fear of saying something wrong the first time that keeps people from joining in the conversation. After the first post it becomes second nature.

When I first joined I only posted that I was a new member and then only read threads once in a great while. Then, all of a sudden, I was addicted! Now, I read the board every day and ask questions and reply to threads and check out tutorials and look at pictures and buy fabric at crazy good prices! I don't know of a board out there besides this one and if there is one, it can't be as great as this one is. It's my lifeline to the outside world, seriously.
