    I may be picturing the wrong thing here-------------but I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use anything with embroidery that I had to tear away. I'll almost guarantee you, some stitches will follow the stabilizer.

    Embroidered squares function the same as a pieced square in a quilt-----------regardless of how the blocks are joined-----------------on point is as simple as rows and columns, with or without sashing

    Our current raffle quilt has embroidered squares set together with pieced squares-------ON POINT!
