I have used a magnetic closure on the Bow Tucks bag. I use a fusible batting on the lining pieces, then I quilt the lining (this is optional). After quilting the lining, I find the center top of both lining pieces, and measure down at least an inch or more and make a mark. I then reinforce behind each mark (on the batting side), with Pellon or anything with a lot of body, then install the magnetic closure on the fabric side of the lining, and sew the lining pieces together, leaving an opening on the bottom for turning. Now, following instructions, sew lining to bag.

Basically, you are attaching the magnetic closures to the RIGHT SIDE of the lining pieces before you sew the lining to the bag. Just be sure to find the center of each lining piece, drop down about an inch and install the closure on each side. There are several posts here giving good instructions, but if you are like me, following new directions can sound mind boggling until you do it.

Basically you can put it in after the quilting of the lining and before stitching the bottom of the lining. Where ever feels comfortable for you. Just remember to put a bit of reinforcement between the lining and the snap. I just use a small scrap of pellon doubled over. Happy bag making.
