To make a smaller one, just use one book case (for example, in the second pic, just the one on the far left end). That size would be about 30" wide and 15" deep. Depending on room, you could use the top as is or add a top anywhere from that size to a few inches larger all around.
Oh that looks great! I am envious! I just wish we had a Ikea close by

That looks like it would work so well. But I can not take my eyes off that chandelier. It is so dang cute. I want one for my bedroom and another for my sewing room.

That looks GREAT - you could also do a single door with 2 bookcases, right? that would make a nice table for those of us that are space challenged!
Her blog was very nice, but when I clicked on the tutorial heading, it wanted me to sign in to facebook or twitter, and I don't belong to either. Have you noticed that most sites are like that now? Other than "biting the bullet" how does one go around that?

you and I both. I thought I tripled the size of my sewing room just by taking down the ironing board! Wish I had started quilting BEFORE investing in our current home.

I made this and this is how I do it! I place the bookshelf units next to the sides of my guest bed and the two hollow core doors on top. If i have overnight company I simply take the doors off and stack them lengthwise against the wall and move the bookcases back. Very easy!

thanks! I need something in my weaving studio to store yarn and warp yarn. This will be great. I will just do one door and 2 shelves.
