a few years ago our computer crashed after downloading an update of Norton. I was told this happens. I then got Webroot and love it.

I use Avast and Malwarebytes and both have been fine. I have the paid version of MWB and the free Avast; Avast has some paid upgrades you can get too.

I use Avast which was initially installed by the tech when I took my computer in to be serviced. I have been very happy with it. I use the free version. Also use Firefox as a browser. I don't have popups or malware or virus problems.

I have Trend Micro and have no trouble with pop-ups. I had Norton at one time too and hated it.

I agree. I've used this for over 2 years and it works. Run scans often and do the updates automatically. It's free at Microsofts' website.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials (on Windows 8 & 8.1 I think it is called "Defender).
It is free and works great for me.

Here is the link I get my download from MSE

I have used Avast, free, for years and have never had a problem. It was recommended to me by my Son, who
is a software Engineer. I highly recommend it.
