I work at a college in New England and have participated in many surveys for students and faculty alike. Good luck in your quest and I love that you incorporated quilting in your Art Therapy. Those of us who are novices think only of childlike art as therapy. Thanks for the lesson.

I think you can usually tell by the way a person speaks or writes whether something is legit. The wording in the original post was very standard for participating in an academic study. Most spammers don't write like that; most hackers deliberately put in clues that their stuff is not legit.

Like many websites, SurveyMonkey is legitimate but may be used for nefarious purposes. I don't think it was in this case.

Good luck with your research. It would be very nice if you'd post a synopsis of your results and conclusions.

Yeah, I think the results will be interesting. But remember, if this is for a thesis, it's going to be a long paper! LOL.

Personally, I think quilting is one of the most frustrating things I've ever done! I hate wrestling a big quilt around the sewing machine. If I weren't already there, it would drive me to the nuthouse! LOL But I love the finished products!

Doing this survey was easy and not invasive at all. Hope all goes well for her. Always willing to help someone out.

I took the survey, very interesting questions, mostly related to quilting as a form of therapy.

I just took the survey - no problems so far! I think it's legit. I know someone who went to that school in Belmont and it's a very adult-centered college - lots of masters programs there.

    Lisanne and Gaigai,

I will definitely try to get a summarized version of the thesis up for your viewing pleasure. It's true, it will be quite long. I'm about 40 pages in and barely halfway! I appreciate your comments, feedback AND participation! :D

I finished the survey. I can appreciate the work you are putting into this. Two of my daughters are working on thesis papers. One is for a doctorate in English the other is a masters in clothing and textiles. Good luck with your paper and with your quilting!

    kathyd,

Thanks for taking the survey! What are the topics for your daughters' theses? You must be so proud! My mom quilts and here I am writing a paper on it. Isn't it funny how apples don't fall far the trees?
