I have had one for years. You won't need any classes to operate this machine. Just set it out of the box, thread it and start sewing. It sews like a dream! It only does a straight stitch, but it's a good stitch. I piece and quilt on mine. To thread mine, I only thread through the top and bottom hole in the little three hole bar. It cuts my thread just perfect. My machine does like to be oiled often. I clean all around the bobbin area every time I change a bobbin, and oil it every 3-4 weeks. You will enjoy sewing on the 1500. It is my go to machine even though I have two more expensive computerized machines.

Go to youtube and see if they have any videos or even classes on line. And look over your manual and trouble shooting page. I keep that near me constantly. have fun and as long as you're happy that's all that matters.

Many, many board members (including me) have this machine. You will get plenty of help if you need it. I, too, purchased mine from All Brands and have been extremely happy with it.
Setting it up is basically a non issue. Just thread and go. It's a simple machine to use. The throat space makes quilting your own quilts a joy.

Brother has excellent customer support. When I was learning my new Brother embroidery machine, I called them every day, sometimes multiple times. They have a simulator so they can go through your exact machine with you and walk you though a problem, and then they send you an email with solution to that problem that you can print or file on your computer. Only drawback, and it's a big one, they are closed on the weekends.

From what I've read it is a NICE machine! Congratulations!
Remember high speed machines can take some getting used to. Don't become discouraged if things like thread breakage occurs. Just study how your tension mechanism works, and make sure and use the right needle/thread pairing.
Have fun!
