Yes, I'm thinking of using at least some solids -was looking in the quilt shop yesterday and they had some mouth-watering deep pinks..

Just what I was thinking re colours! After studying some Kaffe Fassett quilts to see how he combines his colours, I pulled out my stash this morning and confirmed that a touch of orange and red with bright pink could be very effective.

Bargello is a great idea, especially as I've never tried one. I'm inclining either to that or to a Kaffe Fassett style at the moment..

This fabric line is right into the colors you described...

Or you might look up amy Bradley fabrics for a more modern look.

If something like this interests you be sure to scroll down the comments. There is no pattern but she does give the size of the squares she used and she says she based it on a Kaffe Fassett design. I think this is an awesome design and would look great in the colors you would like to use!

I think 2 fabric quilts make a statement. Think about a pink and brown - striking combination and definitely not too pink. It also have the advantage of being almost 100% strip pieced.

Do you want to make a pieced quilt, or applique, or a combo of both?

There are a couple of interesting quilts here.

My favorite idea, however, is a vortex quilt. Can you imagine this in fuschia and green??? I think it would be so awesome, and it would definitely make a statement! And even though it looks difficult, it absolutely is not. I've made one and have another in progress. PM me if you want more info.

I think a 'bass note' of a very dark color might be a thought.

Eggplant would be a change of pace from dark brown or black.

I made a 9-patch with alternating heart appliques. Turned out just lovely.
