Are these designs are cards or CDs? How do they load onto the embroidery machine?

Right now, Vermillion stitchery has a flowers/teacup a month set of 12 cross stitch machine designs FREE. Their designs regularly seem a little pricey to me, but are high-quality. I always try to save the freebies. Site is VSCCS.com.

These designs are downloaded directly to your pc. Newer embroidery machines will have a usb port, so you move them from your PC to a thumb drive (or removable hard drive), then connect the drive to your embroidery machine. Older machines take cards, depending on the machine and card format, you may be able to get away with a generic card reader/writer like one you would use for a camera or you may need a specialized card writer and software. The owner's manual will tell y ou.

What type of designs are you looking for applique, regular. I get most of mine from emblibrary or secret garden when they have their treasure hunts. I also like appliquecorner, embroideryboutique, Lindagee has some nice designs, sealedwithastitch. I know people also love hatchedoutofafrica as well.
