I'll try to do these this year - did not get far last year! LOL I am not really fond of PP! But I have all my material, book and printed out patterns in a box I set aside last year when things got too hectic.

We are off to Phoenix for a few weeks, but will start when I get back!

Looking forward to seeing all the beautiful blocks gals! My Bee has a UFO challenge due in July and I made my 2014 star top mine. Hopefully, all you blocks once you start posting will inspire me to carry on with the quilting.

Carriem, count me in. Don't know if I will make all the deadlines, but have four finished from the interest piqued in last year's posts. Am working on several projects simultaneously and am beginning to feel overwhelmed!! But this is one project I definitely want to finish. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the New Year.

I ordered the book. I've never done paper piecing and have wanted to try. They look like fun blocks.

Welcome to those that are planning to start this year and hi again to those who have already started. Good to see there is still interest!!

I have about 16 blocks done....if I remember correctly. I had a couple other projects I had to finish before I could get back to these. Then just when I was planning to start again, DD decided to graduate a year early so I am working on her graduation quilt. When that is done and I am moved into my new craft room (goal is to be by the end of January) I will get back to working on my stars...at least one a week.

Hi Carriem, I've got the book and have been debating about trying this. Almost did last year but another project got in the way.

The finished quilt shown above is awesome.

I too love PP and looking for a challenge.

Big thing keeping me from starting - FABRIC! My stash is a very mixed bag of leftovers from every quilt project I've done.

How do/did you all choose your fabric?

SueSew--several ladies just did scrappy. Some stuck to just batik scrappy. I personally have a hard time with scrappy, so chose a main fabric and am using that in each block. I also am using the same background fabric throughout (well I am making 2 smaller quilts so technically it is 2 background fabrics, one for each quilt). Then I picked some coordinating fabrics. I will try to get a group shot of those I have done early next week. This week is pretty busy NOT in the sewing room...

Curious as to why this thread is running under Challenges and Contests. Is this either of the two?? I finally figured out that it wasn't running in the place where the 2014 one was run and couldn't figure out where it went to until I noticed the path and then found it. Inquiring (or nosy) minds want to know.
